Section control for intelligent Kuhn plough
All plough operators will know that the Z-shaped furrow edge left when a plough is raised and lowered at the end of a field results in a bumpy ride when ploughing the headland. Not anymore because Kuhn Farm Machinery will show a system at Agritechnica that uses GPS precision to automatically lift and lower each individual plough body into and out of the ground at the start and end points of each furrow.
Called ‘Smart Ploughing’, Kuhn says the section control system ensures all surface trash is buried, and makes ploughing easier, more comfortable and less time-consuming. Also, creating a distinct boundary reduces the number of headland circuits. The company has filed a patent application for the system, which will soon be available across a selection of Kuhn ploughs.
