Kidd Farm Machinery rotary topper

It’s just over a year since free-range pig equipment specialist John Harvey acquired Kidd Farm Machinery and since its move to a new factory it’s fair to say the Wiltshire-based company sounds hungry to grow.Sales are apparently on the up, especially in the firm’s traditional export markets – 50-55% of machines built at Devizes make their ways overseas. We’re also reliably informed there are number of new product developments waiting in the wings. While the details remain under wraps, the latest innovation on show at LAMMA is a 6.0m version of Kidd’s Float-Wing rotary topper. Entirely shaft driven, the machine’s seven rotors are protected by a combination of slip-clutches, shear-bolts and over-run clutches. Said to be a lower power alternative to a flail topper, its swinging over-lapping blades are shrouded to produce a mulching effect.A box-section frame is sandwiched between twin skins of sheet steel – an arrangement that will hopefully see the Float-Wing last the test of time, even when stored outside.Price for the 6.0m folding version is £30,080 while the smallest model in the range – a rigid 2.8m model comes in at £10,800.For more up-to-date farming news click here and subscribe now to profi and save 47%.Share this: TwitterFacebookRedditWhatsApp Nick Fone
