Grimme updates GH ridging hiller
The ridging hiller of Grimme GH-series are suitable for hilling large-volume ridges in potato and vegetable cultivation. As well as for mechanical weed control in other crops which are cultivated in ridges. For the 2023 season, extensive design improvements have been made in terms of working accuracy and ease of use.
The modular design and the new options for configuring the machine ensure a higher degree of utilization, as the machine can be used for a wide range of applications. At Potato Europe, the GH 4 Öko ridging hiller was presented in use to a wide audience for the first time.
Precise mechanical weed control
For effective control of weeds in the crop, the cutting-depth (distance between feeler wheel and blade) can be infinitely adjusted. In addition, the angle of the cutter element (with the fitted blade) can be adjusted and thus optimally adapted to the ridge flanks.
For an exact and even adjustment of the machine, all mechanical setting options are provided with scales. The height guidance of the ridge shaping unit is done by means of an adjustable parallelogram. The angle of the ridging bodies can be adjusted accordingly by means of a spindle. The spring pressure on the ridge shaping unit can be infinitely adjusted so that the ridges are optimally recompacted. These and all other machine settings can be made quickly and conveniently.
Broad range of applications
Due to the modular design, a large variety of working tools can be combined to adapt the ridging hiller GH Öko to different conditions.
For sensitive crops such as carrots, parsnips and root parsley, the GH can be equipped with crop protection plates on the top of the dam. These plates are guided in height via a parallelogram and are available for all common row widths.
The Grimme GH Öko ridging hiller is available in a 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-row version.
