The electrically-powered E-Horse tool carrier will be on display at the AgroTechniek Holland (ATH 2026) show next month.Previewed as a prototype at the same Dutch show in 2024, the E-Horse is designed as a lightweight (1.9t excludes implements) vehicle suitable for carrying a 3.0m-wide hoe or seeder in row crops. The brainchild of Dutch arable farmer Bastian van der Veen, and made by Machinefabriek Boessenkool, the fully electric machine is equipped with a 61.5kWh battery pack. Everything works electrically, including the drive, linkage and steering.Only the front wheels are steered. So, while hoeing, the vehicle drives like a conventional tractor. With a larger steering angle, 4ws automatically engages to turn at the headland. Steering can be done fully automatically with GPS.Implements can be coupled at the front, in the middle and at the rear, and machines can be electrically powered with 48v. Depending on the job, working time ranges from five to eight hours. The 8-12 roof-mounted solar panels are said to keep the 20kWh lithium-ion battery running all day. The outer panels fold for transport.With a ground clearance of 80cm, track width is variably adjustable from 1.80 to 2.60m, and the E-Horse has permanent 4wd and 4ws. Top speed is 13km/hr and prices start from around €100,000.The plan is to offer a fuel-cell powered version, and the narrower frame will allow it to work with 6.0m wide implements. This is not possible with the current machine, which does not have the space to fold implements for transport.
