First New Holland T9 with CVT in the UK
Launched last autumn, the first New Holland T9 Auto Command tractor has now arrived in the UK. The ZF-developed box, which is the same as that used in the CVX versions of the Case IH Quadtrac, is available on five of the seven T9 models - the T9.435 (435hp), T9.480 (469hp), T9.530 (525hp), T9.565 (557hp) and T9.600, which generates a maximum output of 613hp. For now, the two top models, the T9.645 and T9.700, continue to use a powershift.
The ability to utilise full power at speeds as low as 500m/hr or with pto applications, is claimed to deliver possibilities that were previously not conceivable in this power class, including slurry injection, bed tilling, grading, chaser bin operation, wood chipping, heavy cultivation, drilling and loading silage clamps.
"Additionally the ability to add or remove up to 5.5t additional ballast and manoeuvre within a 10.7m turning circle whilst remaining under 3m wide on the road, even when fitted with 900/60 R42 tyres, means the T9 Auto Command is the most versatile high hp tractor available today," said Sean Lennon, head of the tractors product line.
New Holland now offers a CVT in the T6, T7, T8 and T9. The T5 is next and we understand that an Auto Command version is heading to the Italian EIMA show in November.
